Woman Used Dating Apps To Stay At Different Men’s Homes After Unexpectedly Becoming ‘Homeless’
Australian Emily Webb suggests not paying rent if you’re ‘hot’
One woman recently shared a unique “hack” she used to find a place to stay after she unexpectedly found herself without a home.
Emily Webb, 25, explained that she ended up living out of her car over the summer on Australia’s Gold Coast, an experience that pushed her to think outside the box.
The 25-year-old TikToker, who has a following of 65,000, told her audience how she had been sleeping on friends’ sofas. But she came up with another approach that would let her stay with others without feeling like she was over-relying on friends.
Australia’s ongoing housing crisis has made it difficult for people across the country to secure a place to live, with demand for rentals outpacing supply.
Emily shared that she has had a tough time finding a stable home, even after offering to pay up to a year’s rent upfront to secure a place.
Her income comes from her work on OnlyFans and her growing Instagram, where she has nearly 170,000 followers.

Although she had a budget of about AU $1,000 per week (around US $660) for rent, she was still having a hard time finding a spot.
Even so, Emily wasn’t overly stressed about her situation. She had another method in mind that would help her find temporary places to stay until she could secure something more permanent.
Her approach involved using the dating app Hinge to meet men and then staying at their apartments for a few days before moving on to someone else.
In a TikTok video posted in June, she said: “I can’t believe I’ve been wasting my money on rent all this time. Life hack: If you’re hot, don’t ever pay rent.”
In an interview with news.com.au, she elaborated: “I’ve been on dating apps finding different guys’ places to stay with, and it is going surprisingly well. I don’t usually tell them. I don’t want to put pressure on anyone.”
The OnlyFans creator explained that not paying her AU $1,000 weekly rent allowed her to save quite a bit of money, adding: “It is good not paying rent. The places I’m looking at are around $1,000 a week, and I’m saving so much.”
Emily admitted she’s okay with leveraging her “pretty privilege” to help herself out during this tough time.
But not everyone was supportive, with some viewers quickly criticizing her in the comments section on TikTok. One person commented: “You are sending all the wrong messages to viewers stop sponging off people!” while another warned: “This is a very dangerous game you’re playing…”
Another user concluded: “I’ve seen a few of these videos and I’ve come to the conclusion this is satire lol.”
Emily seems to be doing just fine since her homeless sagaTikTok/Emwebbily
About five months later, people may be wondering how Emily’s journey has been going. From the looks of it, she’s been doing just fine…
In September, she shared a story-time video about her trip to Bali, where her “two boyfriends” ended up discovering each other’s existence.
In her more recent TikToks, she seems to be filming from the same apartment regularly, which suggests she may have found a more stable place to call home.
Did Emily’s unusual approach to finding shelter also lead her to love? Aside from the drama involving her “two boyfriends,” it’s hard to say for sure.
Although Emily managed to get through her “homeless era” in one piece, her approach is one people should think carefully about before considering.
